CHEs Breast Cancer Working Group was formed in 2005 as a subdivision of the CHE Cancer
Working Group. This active but smaller group explores the relationship between environmental
exposures and breast cancer, and has recently developed the 2006 Consensus Statement on
Breast Cancer and the Environment.
We meet once a quarter for an hour via conference call with additional emails between calls.
The group has a listserv where new research and policy ideas are distributed. This working
group is coordinated by both Michael Lerner, President of Commonweal, and Jeanne Rizzo, RN,
Executive Director of Breast Cancer Fund. For more information about this group, Jeanne Rizzo
at Jeanne@BreastCancerFund.org or Julia Varshavsky, CHE Program Associate, at
Julia@HealthandEnvironment.org.
